Facing Relationship Issues
Relationships are core to us as human beings – it is how we form connections with the external world. A relationship is like a job … you have to work hard to get into it and harder to stay in it.

7 signs that may indicate your relationship is failing:
- Resentment – this happens when you feel unappreciated, unheard or dismissed. If it is left unchecked, it can lead to bitterness and a lot of anger. Communication can become difficult and a challenge.
- Disrespect – Respect is at the core of all relationships, be that romantic or otherwise. There is a fundamental problem if there is no respect in ta relationship.
- Dishonesty – Lying or the need to lie is normal human behaviour when faced with adversity. An occasional lie can be forgiven (depending on the moral compass and the situation) but some lies are serious and harmful in a relationship.
- Mistrust – Next to respect trust forms the single most requirement in any relationship. A single betrayal can sometimes wipe out a lifetime of trust. If trust is absent, ask yourself why?
- Distancing – If one or both parties in a relationship is seeking distractions or consciously avoiding making a connection, it may be that the bond is severed. Good time to ask as to what is really happening here.
- Defensiveness – It is human nature to get defensive when challenged but over time it prevents open communication and a meaningful relationship.
- Contempt – the most serious problem sign – once a relationship is at this point, the odds of survival are quite low.
